The 15-th coordination meeting was held in Saint Petersburg on implementation of General Contract for Tianwan NPP construction. The Chairman of Board of Directors of Gianjsu Nuclear Power Corporation (JNPC) Mr. Chen Zhaobo managed the work of Chinese delegation; Russian delegation was led by Deputy Minister for Nuclear Energy of Russian Federation Mr. E.A. Reshetnikov.

At plenary sessions and in work groups the sides discussed questions of construction NPP, specifically matters of equipment and materials supply, design, safety analysis, quality assurance, arrangement for NPP commissioning.

General Director of JNPC and First Deputy Director General of JSC "Atomstroyexport" gave their reports concerning implementation of obligations accepted by the sides during the period from April till June 2002. It was stressed that the sides do their best to meet the approved NPP schedule of construction and installation work.

The meeting elaborated a number of important decisions aimed at ensuring scheduled delivery and commissioning of Russian equipment to NPP. Particular attention was paid to solution of questions of manufacturing quality insurance and supply of equipment.

Next the 16-th coordination meeting on implementation of General Contract will be held in China in September 2002.
