ATOMSTROYEXPORT is in fact a leading export-import company in this engineering branch, which has to provide for organization, coordination and fulfillment of obligations under the existing Intergovernmental Agreements and appropriate contracts signed to render services to the foreign customers in constructing and commissioning the nuclear power projects abroad, including the operation guarantee period as well as maintenance and repairs after the guarantee period has expired. Besides, ATOMSTROYEXPORT has been instructed by MINATOM to act as a general supplier of equipment, materials and/or as a general contractor for construction of nuclear power plants and other nuclear projects abroad, where the Russian organizations are involved. ATOMSTROYEXPORT export program includes: nuclear power plants with water-moderated power reactors of VVER type (analogous to Western pressurized-water reactors of PWR type); nuclear heating plants and nuclear heat power plants; nuclear research centers; individual research laboratories incorporating test reactors, neutron generator, cyclotrone, linear accelerators; nuclear desalination plants; wind power units. Along with implementation of its basic export program, other types of activities specified in its Articles of Association, including export and import of various goods and services, constitute a substantial share of ATOMSTROYEXPORT business.
