TNPP Unit 2 reactor assembly is completed
JSC Atomstroyexport specialists have completed works on final assembly and compression of a reactor at Unit 2 of Tianwan NPP. The works were embarked upon at the end of March after 163 fuel assemblies have been installed.
At present hydraulic tests of primary and secondary circuit are being carried out in the reactor building. The technological systems and equipment are being prepared for reactor warming and bringing it to a minimum control power level followed by physical tests aimed for investigation of core neutron physics properties. The procedures are scheduled for completion in the beginning of May.
The works at Unit 2 are implemented under the Physical-Startup-Stage commissioning program.
Information.
JSC Atomstroyexport is performing works under the Contract for the construction of two VVER-1000 power units at Tianwan Site with a total capacity of 2000MW. At present the power plant is the largest in terms of a single unit capacity among those being built in the country.
The VVER-1000 is ranked highly reliable due to incorporation of up-to-date safety ensuring approaches based on several consecutive in-depth safety levels.
