Atomstroyexport as part of the Russian exposition participated in the 10th International exhibition of nuclear industry (Nuclear Industry, China' 2008) which took place on 25–28 March in Beijing. At the exhibition the company demonstrated its capabilities to construct NPP abroad and to manage projects in nuclear power engineering. The central element of the Russian exposition was a stand dedicated to Tianwan NPP which was put in commission by Atomstroyexport in 2007.
On the 25th of March 2008 JSC Atomstroyexport celebrates its birthday. The company was founded ten years ago on the basis of two big Russian companies with longstanding experience in construction of NPP abroad: VO Atomenergoexport and VPO Zarubezhatomenergostroy.
On the 21st of March Atomstroyexport was honoured with National EPCM Awards 2007 in engineering and project management. Awarding ceremony took place in Moscow in the framework of the international conference “Investment project management: decisions for the clients and EPC/EPCM-companies”. Among the companies claimants for the award Atomstroyexport was recognized a winner in the nomination “The best Russian EPC/EPCM company in the foreign markets”.
On 20th of March 2008 Kudankulam NPP (India) has received next scheduled 40th lot of equipment. Equipment with total weight of 3,000 tones was shipped from Saint-Petersburg to port Tutikorin. Atomstroyexport equipped the lot in accordance with the equipment delivery schedule. This delivered shipload lot consisted of over 500 tones of piping and approximately 4,500 units of reinforcement including for completion of manufacturing systems in the reactor compartment and in turbine island of the Unit No. 1 as well as cable, pumps, blowers and other equipment manufactured by Russian and Ukrainian companies in compliance with the signed contracts.
Scheduled preventive repair (SPR) of the first power generating unit was completed at Tianwan NPP in China. This is the first SPR with fuel reload carried out during warranty period of operation with technical assistance of Atomstroyexport specialists. During SPR fuel reloading of reactor active zone was carried out with partial replacement of fuel assemblies used out.
Atomstroyexport participated in the ceremonial function in Bulgaria dedicated to the 130th anniversary of liberation from the Ottoman yoke. Ceremonial functions took place almost in every Bulgarian town. Main celebrations proceeded in Shipka and Pleven. Vice prime minister of the Republic of Bulgaria Daniel Vylchev, officers of the Russian embassy, chief executives of city authorities and representatives of ASE JSC placed wreaths and flowers at Freedom monument on Shipka hill and the General Skobelev memorial in Pleven.
Atomstroyexport as a leader of “Stabilization” consortium has commenced to execute physical activities within the “Shelter” object safety furthering” contract concluded on the 10th of January 2008 with the state specialized organization Chernobyl NPP. In January – February 2008 the consortium performed a complex of preparatory mobilization measures including medical equipment and special theoretical training of personnel.
