JSC “Atomstroyexport” has taken part in a session of the Russian-Slovak IGC

In Moscow within the frame of the Intergovernmental Committee on economic and scientific-technical cooperation between the Russian Federation and the Slovakia Republic the 2d session of the Russian-Slovak working group on atomic energy (WGAE) was held. JSC “Atomstroyexport” (JSC ASE) took part in the work of WGAE. The working group agreed and signed a long-term program of the Russian-Slovak cooperation in the field of atomic energy industry.

The Committee underlined a successful development of the Russian-Slovak cooperation in the field of atomic energy industry providing safe and reliable operation of Slovak NPPs. The Slovak side supported the participation of the Russian companies in modernization of the current power units within Slovak NPPs and development of the atomic energy industry in the Republic. The Russian side confirmed its readiness to implement projects on extension of a term of NPP “Bohunice” operation, on power increase of Slovak NPPs current power units, on completion of Units 3 and 4 at NPP “Mohovce” and on new power units construction in Slovakia. The key organization on the part of the State Corporation “Rosatom” to execute the mentioned above appears to be JSC “Atomstroyexport”.

It is planned to do presentations on the Russian atomic technologies in Slovakia and to deliver to JSC “Slovak power plants” the detailed information on the Russian NPP projects of new generation offered to be constructed in Central Europe. It is also supposed to conduct negotiations with specialized Slovak companies and organizations in order to sign an agreement on joint-cooperation with JSC “Atomstroyexport” on new power units construction.

Reference. The Russian and Slovak atomic energy industry has always developed in close cooperation. Nuclear power plants constructed in Slovakia on the base of the Russian technologies of light water reactors have one of the best reliability and efficiency indexes in Europe and in the world. According to the Intergovernmental agreements signed between USSR and ChSSR, NPP “Bohunice” with the capacity of 1760MWt (4 VVER-440 power units were put into operation during 1979-1985 period) and NPP “Mohovce” with the capacity of 88MWt (2 VVER-440 power units were put into operation in 1998 and in 2000) were constructed in Slovakia under the Russian projects and nowadays are in operation.

JSC “Atomstroyexport” (JSC ASE) is a leading state engineering company, controlled by  “Rosatom” State Corporation, implementing the Intergovernmental and Commercial Agreements on construction of nuclear engineering projects in foreign countries. Currently JSC “Atomstroyexport” carries out orders made up to approximately 20% of the whole capacity of the competitive world market.
